LAURA J INGALLS began her career as a professional actress.
After enjoying great success on the stage she pursued formal education in the field of wellness, uncovering a deep passion for coaching, personal training, and holistic health. She developed and taught classes for the Orlando Weight Management and Nutrition Center in Orlando, FL, focusing on behavioral change group coaching and nutrition education. She also dovetailed her own passion for fitness into practical application for other athletes, becoming a marathon coach for Team in Training and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the largest endurance sports training program in the world.
After a move to Massachusetts, she worked as personal trainer for Get In Shape For Women before transitioning into the field of worksite wellness. As a Wellness Program Manager and Health Coach for AdvancingWellness, she co-developed and managed the wellness program for Web Industries, a Massachusetts-based manufacturing company of 350 employees in seven locations throughout the US. Under the guidance of Coach Laura and AdvancingWellness, the program at Web put a stop to the rise in insurance expenses for their employees in a record breaking 5 years.
In 2017 Laura transitioned out of worksite wellness to accept the position of Associate Director of Healthy Living for the Greater Boston YMCA, combining her program development, project management, and people skills with her years of experience in personal training and coaching. She also became a USAT Certified triathlon coach.
Laura maintains her own fitness through an avid connection to the November Project, and by continuing to run races across the US. To date, Laura has raised thousands of dollars for charity as a marathon runner, cross-country relay runner, and Ironman triathlete. She was featured by Reebok in a documentary for their Reebok Ragnar Napa Valley Relay where she and five teammates traversed the 200 miles between San Francisco and Napa Valley in just 36 hours.
